     Charles Mayfield, Jr. says that he remembers Ida living on James St. in Jackson, MS when he was a child and they would visit her with his grandmother, Anna Bell Travis. She had no children. Ida S. Travis, daughter of James Travis and Susan Merrill, was born on 22 March 1876 at Jasper County, Mississippi.2 Ida S. Travis was the daughter of James Travis and Susan Merrill.

Ida S. Travis married Robert J. Kelly.5

Ida S. Travis appeared on the United States census of 17 April 1930 in the household of Robert J. Kelly at Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.6 Ida S. Travis was a witness "For and in consideration of $1.00 and other good and valuable considerations, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we, S. E. Travis, G. B. Travis, and M. G. Travis, the only sons of James Travis, deceased, do hereby convey and quit claim unto Miss Eliza Travis, our sister, the following described property situate in the First Judicial District of Jasper County, Mississippi:
E1/2 of the SE1/4 and the SW1/4 of Section 5, Township 10, Range 9 West.
The undersigned together with the grantee, Mrs. Mattie McClelland, Mrs. Annie Steens, Mrs. Susie Trest and Miss Ida Travis are the sole heirs at law of Mr. James Travgis who died intestate."7

On 5 April 1940, Ida S. Travis appeared on the United States Census, at Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, Ida is reported to have three years of college and was teaching private students.8

Ida S. Travis died in 1950 at Mississippi.9 and was buried at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.9
