Peter Arnot/ts family moved from Roscobie to Lassodie around 1880 and into coal mining. That was a thriving new village but all that remains is now a barren landscape on the right of the picture (the grey bit). It will be restored on completion of opencast mining. The copy of signature from John King (the 1835 signature) and from John Adams (the 1867 signature) shows the similarities and perhaps helps verify that John King and John Adams were the same person. This is the home that James H. and Grace Arnott were living in when they left Crested Butte. Grace lived in this house summers until her death.

This is Agnes Monro and her husband Alexander, who was also her cousin. The image was sent to this researcher Sarah Munro.
This home is the home in which all 13 of John and Helen Arnott's children were raised in Crested Butte, Colorado. Helen, or Ma Arnott, lived here until her death. Visitors always sat in the kitchen by the coal stove while Ma knitted and visited with her large family. In the living room was an old Victrola record player that figures in the memories of several generations of Arnotts. As of 2001, the home still belonged to some of her descendents.

"Susie" (Stevens) Arnott, making apple sauce in the basement of their home on Paseo Way in Denver, Colorado. Susie canned a great deal and had a full kitchen in the basement in order to keep the mess out of the kitchen upstairs. She made pickles, all kinds of jam, canned tomatoes, peaches, pears, plums and much more.

Next to her (identified by Lloyd Tunik, who knew her) is Chaia. The young girl behind Chaia, again identified by Lloyd Tunik, is Fannia. The younger of the two boys in the front, center, is Simon Tunik and next to him is Aaron Tunik. Based on the age at which Simon went to China to avoid the Russian draft during WWI, his son, Lloyd Tunik, believes that the photograph was taken in Tomsk.

This is an advertising flier for the Tunik Bros. Lavik Tunik was a tailor in downtown Seattle, Washington for many years. It is believed that he was at this time in business with his brother Simon who in later years had a dry cleaning business in San Francisco, California.

Prior to her marriage, Nina Tunik Vederoff worked doing sewing, embroidery, etc. She was very artistically inclined and made things by hand or on her sewing/embroidery machines all her life.
The plane in this photo now hangs in the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. Nina (Tunik) Vederoff made the cloth coverings for the wings. The plane was a project for Greg Vederoff's engineering class.

Morris Vederoff standing in front of a bakery display case in the Pike Place Market, Seattle, Washington. Morris had been a baker and after he retired and his wife Nina passed away, would walk from his home down to the market virtually every day. This is one of the shops he frequented.
