Kenneth T. "Bud" Brown, 89, of Pass Christian, formerly of Laurel, died Wednesday February 13, 2008 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Sharon Cemetery. Dr. Randy Turner will officiate.
Mr. Brown was retired from the railroad. He was born and raised in Jones County. Known as Uncle Bud, he was a quiet, gentle man of integrity whose love for his family kept him full of life. He will always be a legend to all and will be missed, but remembered as a pillar of strength, love and an inspiration to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Nebraska Brown; three sisters, Maxine Parrish, Bina Ruth Brown and Angelina Mapp; brother,s Hilman, Ronald and Cluis Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Hamilton Brown of Pass Christian; daughters, Eleanor Monteabaro of Albertville, Ala., Cynthia Acey of Pass Christian, and Sandra Powers and husband Robert Powers of Gulfport; son, Kenneth Mike Brown of Pass Christian; sister, Ann Landrum of Laurel; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Martin Tanguis, Garland Hamilton, Jamie Harris, Ronald Hamilton, Nathan Brooks and Eddie Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be E.G. Brown and Charlie Brown.9 and was buried at Sharon Cemetery, Sharon, Jones County, Mississippi.9
