     James Bounds, son of John Bounds Jr. and Rebecca (?), was born before 1696 at Dorchester County, Maryland.1 James Bounds was the son of John Bounds Jr. and Rebecca (?).2

"James Bounds was mentioned as the eldest son in the deed of gift which conveyed John Bounds' plantation, BOUNDS SQUARE, to his second son, also John, on 10 December 1720. As heir to the remaining property, James made a bond to his brother, John on 13 January 1725/6 with the intention of not claiming BOUNDS SQUARE. After selling his father's home place on RUNCELL and YEARSLAND, James made another bond on 2 February 1725/6 to keep the purchaser, Joseph McClester, in quies and peaceable possession from a certain Rebecca, formerly the widow of John Bound, late of Somerset County deceased, the now wife of Charles Hopkins, free from any claim of right of Dower or thirds (she was his mother)."3

James Bounds married Ann Dicks before 1721 at Maryland.

James Bounds lived in 1744 at Frederick County, Virginia; James Bounds maried by 1721 "and after disposing of his land, he left the Eastern Shore of Maryland and moved west to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. By 1744 he was in Frederick Couny, Virginia, where he was very closely associated with George Bound and wife Mary Claywell from Somerset County.1

James Bounds lived; James Bounds was "In Anson County, North Carolina from 1761, James Bound, Sr. swapped land with his sons James, Jr., Jesse and John Bownds, his son-in-law John Cole and Stephen Cole, and their uncle, Mark Cole."1

James Bounds died before 1775 at Anson County, North Carolina. James Bounds is buried on his own plantation.1
