     William Hail Bottenfield, son of William C. Bottomfield and Jane Drake, was born on 5 August 1869 at Keokuk County, Iowa.3 William Hail Bottenfield was the son of William C. Bottomfield and Jane Drake.1

William Hail Bottenfield appeared on the United States census of July 1870 in the household of William C. Bottomfield at English River, Keokuk County, Iowa.4

William Hail Bottenfield appeared on the United States census of 18 June 1880 in the household of William C. Bottomfield at Oakfield, Audubon County, Iowa.5

Researcher Bruce Bottenfield reports that there were five children born prior to Mernice Morford Bottenfield, all of whom died before they were two years old and are buried in Kentyre, North Dakota.3

William Hail Bottenfield married Lib Ota Warrington on 9 June 1895 at Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.1,6

On 14 June 1900, William Hail Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Beaver, Dallas County, Iowa.7

On 23 May 1910, William Hail Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Logan School Township, Emmons County, North Dakota.8 He emigrated on 13 December 1913; In July 1913 he crossed the US-Canada border at Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada to start on their new homestead. On December 23, 1913, Lib Ota and the three children crossed as well.3

William Hail Bottenfield died on 24 November 1958 at Deerlock, Rainy River District, Ontario, Canada, at age 89.3 and was buried at North Branch Cemetery, Deerlock, Rainy River District, Ontario, Canada.3
