     Hiram Bottenfield, son of Rev. Samuel Bottenfield and Margaret Mitchell, was born circa 1828 at Monroe County, Ohio.1 Hiram Bottenfield was the son of Rev. Samuel Bottenfield and Margaret Mitchell.1

In 1850, Hiram Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Centre Township, Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio, Living at an inn and working as a tailor.2

Hiram Bottenfield married Jane G. Steel, daughter of William Steel and Elizabeth (?), on 12 September 1852 at Monroe County, Ohio.3,4

Hiram Bottenfield witnessed the marriage of Shadrach Mitchell Bottenfield and Sarah Elizabeth McCormic in 1855 at Stafford, Monroe County, Ohio; In Shadrach Bottenfield's military pension records, it states that Jacob Barrett (?) and Hiram Bottenfield were witnesses to the marriage. The marriage was performed by Joseph Markey.5,6

In 1860, Hiram Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Stafford, Monroe County, Ohio, Hiram is listed as a shoemaker with $300 in real estate and $400 in personal assets.7

On 29 July 1870, Hiram Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Oswego Township, Labette County, Kansas.8

Hiram Bottenfield married Sarah Bell Norris on 7 March 1876 at Labette County, Kansas.9,10

In 1880, Hiram Bottenfield appeared on the United States Census, at Oswego Township, Labette County, Kansas.11

Hiram Bottenfield died on 2 March 1898 at Oswego, Labette County, Kansas. From Monroe County, Ohio Newspaper Abstracts, compiled by Rita Kopp, page 33:

     "Bottenfield Hiram, from an Oswego KS newspaper: d there 2 Mar, 70 y, b Monroe Co OH, moved to Noble Co OH then to KS, lived near Oswego the past 28 y, 3 children by 1st wife: James, Austin & Sherman, Hiram an uncle of Mrs. Robert L. Wright."12,13 Hiram was buried at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Labette County, Kansas.14,15
