This Samuel is mixed up in some researcher's work with the Samuel Bottenfield who went to Monroe County, Ohio.

Richard Parks says he may be the son of Hans Adam and Eva Margaretha. However, Eva Margareta, I believe, was the wife of Adam, son of Hans Adam. This Samuel is therefore in question until further research. Samuel Bottenfield, son of Hans Adam Battenfeld and Maria Elizabeth Pauster, was born in 1770 at Washington County, Pennsylvania.2 Samuel Bottenfield was the son of Hans Adam Battenfeld and Maria Elizabeth Pauster.1

Samuel Bottenfield married Mary Eve (?) on 16 January 1806 at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Ohio, There is a marrage listed for a Samuel Bottenfield, wife Marry Bottenfield in 1806 Loudoun County, Virginia. Perhaps this is the Samuel, but this family seems to have been in Pensylvania so perhaps it was a different Samuel.3,4,5

Samuel Bottenfield died on 14 May 1820 at Franklin County, Pennsylvania.2

Parks (Ancestry World Tree), downloaded 2002 and 2003, Parks states that the marriage occured in Ohio at the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Since he was born in PA and also died in PA, the Ohio seems some questionable.
