Johan Philipp Battenfeld, son of Johannes Battenfeld and Maria Barbara Herbold, was born on 7 August 1722 at Michelbach, A. Erbach, Baden, Germany.1 Johan Philipp Battenfeld was the son of Johannes Battenfeld and Maria Barbara Herbold.1

Johan Philipp Battenfeld married Susannah (?).2

J. E. Litzenberg, in a letter dated May 3, 1951, and located in the files at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society in Waynesburg, PA, writes that there were two John Bottenfields who came from Virginia into Greene County, PA. He suggests that each of the brothers who came from Germany had a son John. If that conjecture is correct, and I believe as of 12-10-01 that it is, then this Johan Philipp Battenfeld had a son John who went to Green Co, PA about 1810 and to Knox Co, Ohio in the 1830's.

Researcher Richard Parks states that, "Although Johann Phillip had ten children who were in America, currently the only descendants of the (Am Ende) Battenfeld families which we have traced down to the present day are descended from Johann Phillips' brother Hans Adam."3,2

Johan Philipp Battenfeld died on 25 October 1805 or 1815 at York County, Pennsylvania.2
