Sadie, or Grandma Bottenfield, continued running the ranch in Crested Butte after her husband Elmer passed away. She also played a major role in raising the four Arnott children after her daughter, Ella, died. At one point Sadie moved in from the ranch to a house in town so she could care for her four grandchildren. Her manager out at the Ranch was Lou Moser and he may have owned the house in Crested Butte where Grandma Bottenfield stayed with her grandchildren.8

In 1920, Sarah Ann Bailey appeared on the United States Census, at outside of town, Crested Butte, Gunnison County, Colorado.9

Sarah Ann Bailey died in February 1934 at Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, at age 60. Estelle Arnott Kerr was with Sadie when she died in Engelwood. Estelle had taken a shift in being with Sadie as she was gravely ill with "pernicious anemia," which was probably leukemia. Estelle did not stay for the funeral as Fern and Bill Bailey were driving back to Crested Butte and Estelle went with them..11 Sarah Ann (Sadie) was buried on 20 February 1934 at Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.12
