     John Arnot, son of James Arnot and Jean (Joanna) Hutchin Mitchell, was born on 10 March 1856 at Roscobie, Dunfermline Parish, Fife, Scotland.1,2 John Arnot was the son of James Arnot and Jean (Joanna) Hutchin Mitchell.1

John Arnot married Jane Roddick.4

John Arnot and Jane Roddick immigrated in 1889 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They went first to Cheshire, England, then to Winnipeg. Then, in 1905 settled in Vancouver, British Columbia where they lived out their lives. Researcher Peter Arnott says that John started a joinery business there.5,6
