     Moses Welborn, son of James Welborn Jr. and Rebecca Younger, was born on 4 March 1789 at Anderson County, South Carolina.1 Moses Welborn was the son of James Welborn Jr. and Rebecca Younger.1

Moses Welborn married Sarah Halbert on 21 August 1808 at Pendleton District, South Carolina.1

Moses Welborn died on 25 August 1834 at Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, at age 45.1

Moses Welborn left a will after 25 August 1834 Moses Welborn died Intestate. In 1834, one Sarah Halbert Welborn was administratix of the estate of Moses Welborn. A Joel E. Welborn shared that responsibility with her. In 1839, in the 2nd return of Sarah Welborn, the name Albert G. Welborn was given as having been paid the amount of $242, along with the names of others were paid the same amount. dated, July 29, 1839.

The estate had cash in the amount of $964.37. There was also a long list of belongings which were appraised. On that list were numerous hogs, horses and feed. There were many tools such as straw cutters, sythes, hoes, shovels, black smith tools. There was a lot of peas and wheat bran; 4 potato heaps; 3 barrels of flour. There was a loom, carding machine, 4 spinning wheels. There were a lot of books (the lot valued at $1.25); a pocket map; a lot of seed cotton.

His land, consisting of 228 acres was resurveyed and lotted off. This land was known as "Lot No. 1 (Homestead) containing (228) two hundred and twenty eight acres. Situated in Anderson district, on west branches of little beaver-dam creek waters of Rocky River." A copy of these surveyers drawing is in the records of this compiler, Lynell Arnott, Lakewood, Ede County, New Mexico.1,2
