     Major Gen. William Welborn, son of James Welborn Sr. and Isabella Mary Teague, was born on 28 September 1761 at Rowan County, North Carolina.1 Major Gen. William Welborn was the son of James Welborn Sr. and Isabella Mary Teague.1

Major Gen. William Welborn married Prudence Davis in 1782.1

Major Gen. William Welborn married Rachel Payne, daughter of Isaac Payne, on 7 November 1807 at Rowan County, North Carolina.1

According to the genealogy of Roy Birch, William Welborn served as a Major General during the War of 1812. His Miliary Service Records indicate he served as Lt. with Captain Rausour in the North Carolina military..1,2

Major Gen. William Welborn died on 28 December 1841 at Springhill, Davidson County, North Carolina, at age 80.1 and was buried at Spring Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Davidson County, North Carolina.3
