     Matilda A. Welborn, daughter of Aaron Welborn and Lucy Stevenson, was born on 27 August 1835 at Jones County, Mississippi.1 Matilda A. Welborn was the daughter of Aaron Welborn and Lucy Stevenson.1

Matilda A. Welborn appeared on the United States census of 1850 in the household of Aaron Welborn at Jones County, Mississippi.21

Matilda A. Welborn married William Alexander Lyon in 1852.1

Matilda A. Welborn appeared on the United States census of 16 October 1860 in the household of William Alexander Lyon at Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi.3

In 1870, Matilda A. Welborn appeared on the United States Census, at Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi, Matilda was apparently still farming the land she had had with her husband, now deceased.4

On 9 June 1880, Matilda A. Welborn appeared on the United States Census, at Pinelville, Jones County, Mississippi.5

On 25 June 1890 Matilda Welborn Lyon was granted a homestead based on the May 20, 1862 Act in the state of Mississippi. The land, 80.68 acres is described as: 1 NWSE ST STEPHENS No 9N 12W 2; 2 NESW ST STEPHENS No 9N 12W 2. This was registered at the Jackson Land Office.6

Matilda A. Welborn died on 28 January 1900 at Jones County, Mississippi, at age 64.1 and was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Laurel, Jones County, Mississippi.1
