Louisiana C. Welborn, daughter of Pendleton Clay Welborn and Sara Jane Allen, was born on 25 August 1877 at Jasper County, Mississippi. Louisiana C. Welborn was the daughter of Pendleton Clay Welborn and Sara Jane Allen. She was also known as Louisiana Loletta Cristoble Welborn Some researchers have Loletta Cristoble added to Louisiana Welborn's name. At this time this researcher does not know where this information came from, nor has there been any substantiation in original documents..

Louisiana C. Welborn appeared on the United States census of 1880 in the household of Pendleton Clay Welborn at Jasper County, Mississippi.3

Louisiana C. Welborn married William Jackson Ainsworth, son of Jackson Andrew Ainsworth and Pernicia Ann Barker, before 1896.22 Louisiana C. Welborn and William Jackson Ainsworth my have been divorced.2

Louisiana C. Welborn died on 25 January 1899 at Jasper County, Mississippi, at age 21.4 and was buried at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Stringer, Jasper County, Mississippi.5

According to family lore, Louisiana died from burns. One version says that she had just given birth to her youngest daughter and was faint. The other version says that she had fainting spells. At any rate, she was boiling clothes (washing them) over an open fire, passed out, and fell into the fire. It is believe that Aunt Indiana, sister to Louisiana, raised Buelah and Eulah. There is never a mention of what happened to Will Ainsworth in the family stories, though through research it is known that he went on to marry and have a number of other children.

"Who Married Whom in Jasper Co., MS" -- lists her name as Louisiana Loleta C. Welborn and says she did not marry. There is a question regarding her marriage. Did she marry and then divorce, or did she perhaps never marry but have two children by William Jackson Ainsworth? In his obituary his daughters by Louisiana Welborn are listed.1,2
