Elijah Welborn, son of Aaron Welborn Sr. and Elizabeth Younger, was born in 1787 at North Carolina Bill Wellborn states in his email to this researcher: "I personally have the Bible of Pierce Mashburn Wellborn (Elijah's son) and in that Bible it states Elijah was born in 1787 in NC. He married in SC, Pendleton Dist. SC, and first two children, maybe the third, were born in SC before moving to Tenn. where one child maybe 2 was born before moving to Forsyth Co Ga."

In another email from Bill Wellborn on 16 June 2010, he posits that there was both an Elijah and Elisha Wellborn, possibly twins, born in 1787.2

Bil Wellborn writes that he has a letter from Sarah Ann Welborn that her grandfather had two sons, Elijah, who was her father and Elisha. Elijah married Agnes Ann Claridy and moved to Forsyth County, Georga and Elisha married Sarah Crawford and moved to Rabun County, Georga. The letter was written in 1910.2 Elijah Welborn was the son of Aaron Welborn Sr. and Elizabeth Younger.1 Another researcher, Roy Birch, lists the birth as: circa 1793 at Pendleton District, Anderson County, South Carolina. It is believed that the 1787 birth date reported by researcher Bill Wellborn is more credible since the family Bible showing the 1787 birth date is in the possession of Bill Wellborn.

If, indeed, there were two brothers - Elijah nd Elisha, as some researchers say, it is possible that Elijah married Agnes Claridy and Elisha married Agnes Crawford. This researcher has finally been convinced that this is the correct information.1,3,2

Elijah Welborn married Agnes Ann Claridy.4

On 2 September 1850, Elijah Welborn appeared on the United States Census, at Forsyth County, Georgia, Elijah, Agnes, and Pearce M. Willborn were living with PEJ Clardy, J.S. Fincher, and John W. Sampler (age 6.) It is unknown if there was a relationship.5
