     Edwin Rufin Welborn, son of Pendleton Clay Welborn and Sara Jane Allen, was born on 11 January 1871 at New County, Mississippi.1 Edwin Rufin Welborn was the son of Pendleton Clay Welborn and Sara Jane Allen.

Edwin Rufin Welborn appeared on the United States census of 1880 in the household of Pendleton Clay Welborn at Jasper County, Mississippi.2

Edwin Rufin Welborn married Martha Emiline Ruffin in 1890.3

His wife Martha Emiline passed away in 1933 so perhaps that was a factor. He is buried in Jasper County, Mississippi, which indicates that he may have returned there after 1940. The Depression may also have been a factor in his relocation to New Mexico.7

Edwin Rufin Welborn died on 23 November 1954 at age 83.1 and was buried at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Stringer, Jasper County, Mississippi.1,8
