     Susan Travis, daughter of James Travis and Susan Merrill, was born on 8 May 1874 at Jasper County, Mississippi.2 Susan Travis was the daughter of James Travis and Susan Merrill.

Susan Travis appeared on the United States census of 1880 in the household of James Travis at Jasper County, Mississippi.3

Susan Travis married Colon Oliphant Trest in 1900.

Charles Mayfield, Jr. remembers that Susan lived in DeFuniak Springs, FL, and his family used to go visit her. Her son became an airline pilot.4

Susan Travis appeared on the United States census of 28 April 1910 in the household of Colon Oliphant Trest at Washington Parish, Louisiana.5

Susan Travis appeared on the United States census of 8 April 1930 in the household of Colon Oliphant Trest at DeFuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.7 Susan Travis was a witness "For and in consideration of $1.00 and other good and valuable considerations, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we, S. E. Travis, G. B. Travis, and M. G. Travis, the only sons of James Travis, deceased, do hereby convey and quit claim unto Miss Eliza Travis, our sister, the following described property situate in the First Judicial District of Jasper County, Mississippi:
E1/2 of the SE1/4 and the SW1/4 of Section 5, Township 10, Range 9 West.
The undersigned together with the grantee, Mrs. Mattie McClelland, Mrs. Annie Steens, Mrs. Susie Trest and Miss Ida Travis are the sole heirs at law of Mr. James Travgis who died intestate."8

Susan Travis died on 11 March 1954 at Florida at age 79.2 and was buried at Magnolia Cemetery, DeFuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.2
