     William C. Stevens, son of William Adkins Stevens and Avia Turney, was born on 21 November 1933 at Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.2 William C. Stevens was the son of William Adkins Stevens and Avia Turney.

William C. Stevens appeared on the United States census of 13 April 1940 in the household of William Adkins Stevens at Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.3

William C. Stevens married Francis Bennett circa 1965.

Bill had an art galery which showed his own artwork. It was called Galeria Del Sol. He was listed in the Las Cruces, New Mexico, city directory in 1965. Both he and his wife Frances were listed in 1976, 1978, and 1982.4,5

William C. Stevens died on 2 February 1986 at Grant County, New Mexico, at age 52.2,5 and was buried on 7 February 1986 at Masonic Cemetery, Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.6

Bill's obituary read as follows: "Funeral services for William C. "Bill" Stevens, 53, of 2100 W. Hadley Ave., will be held 4 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He died Sunday in Grant County.

"The Rev. W. W. Hutchinson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

"He was a lifelong resident of Las Cruces. On Friday, he retired as a section chief after 25 years at the Physical Science Laboratory.

"He is survived by his wife, Frances; a son, William Clyde, and a daughter Sarah Lynn, both of the home address; his mother, Avia Stevens, of Las Cruces, and a sister, Jo Anne Dalton, of Albuquerque.

"The family suggested contributions to favorite charities."7
