     Alford Stevens, son of James Stevens and Belinda Stevens, was born on 24 June 1858 at Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana.1 Alford Stevens was the son of James Stevens and Belinda Stevens.1 He was also known as Alfred.2

Alford Stevens appeared on the United States census of 1860 in the household of James Stevens at Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana.3

Alford Stevens appeared on the United States census of 1870 in the household of James Stevens at Colfax, Grant Parish, Louisiana.4

Alford Stevens married Levease McCullough on 16 March 1878 at Madison Parish, Louisiana.5

Alford Stevens appeared on the United States census of 1880 in the household of James Stevens at Grant Parish, Louisiana.6

Alford Stevens married Rebecca Angeline Fletcher, daughter of James Fletcher and Rebecca O'Quinn, on 14 February 1883 at Iatt Church, Verda, Grant Parish, Louisiana.7,8

Alford and Angeline (Fletcher) Stevens had six children according to an article written in 1943 on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. They were listed as: Mrs. C. O. Nugent; Mrs. W. F. Owens; Miss Millie Stevens; Jesse J. Stevens; Crawford H. Stevens; and J. Cheston Stevens.

The article also indicated that they lived in Grant Parish, LA until 1901 when they moved to Will Parish. Alfred Stevens engaged in the stock raising business and farming.7

Alford Stevens died on 5 October 1944 at Winn Parish, Louisiana, at age 86.7,12
