Richard Roach immigrated to the United States in 1844 to Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin. The Roach family came to Iowa County from Cornwall, England.1

Richard Roach is found on the 1850 Wisconsin census with his family, all born in England: John, age 47; Blanch, age 47; John D., age 18; Samuel, age 14; Richard, age 12; Thomas, age 11; and Mary A., age 9.2

Richard Roach married Elizabeth Elam, daughter of Joseph Elam and Mary Thornton, on 17 February 1871 at Iowa County, Wisconsin.1
