     Joseph Monro, son of John Munro and Ann Dykes, was born on 19 January 1837 at Guthrie, Forfarshire (Angus), Scotland.2,3 Joseph Monro was the son of John Munro and Ann Dykes.

Joseph Monro married Mary Smith, daughter of John Smith and Mary Glanen, on 11 March 1864 at Inverness, Banffshire, Scotland.4
