     George Washington Nutt, was born on 27 January 1828 at Monroe County, Alabama.2

George Washington Nutt married Sarah Ann Adams, daughter of John Adams and Epsey Young, on 8 January 1858 at Clarke County, Mississippi, The marriage was performed by A. Arrington, Sr., J.P.3
