     William Litzenberg, was born on 7 May 1790.1

William Litzenberg married Christina Bottomfield, daughter of John Bottenfield Sr. and Barbara Hammond, in December 1811 According to Parks, after their marriage they settled on a 158 acre farm in Jefferson Township, Green County, PA.1,2

On April 1, 1843, at the age of 18 years, she with her parents, two brothers and two sisters went on a flatboat from Willsborough, Pennsylvania, on the Monogahela river to Pittsburg, at which point they boarded the steamboat, Manhattan, and on the Ohio river went to Cairo, Illinois, from there on the Mississippi to st. Louis, at which point they boarded the steamboat Iona on the Missouri river and after just one month's travel on the water they landed at Weston, Missouri, May 1, 1843.3

On 26 October 1850, William Litzenberg appeared on the United States Census, at DeKalb County, Missouri.4

On 27 July 1860, William Litzenberg appeared on the United States Census, at Washington Township, Stewartville, DeKalb County, Missouri.5

William Litzenberg died on 16 February 1868 at age 77.1 and was buried at Old School Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewartsville, Clinton County, Missouri.2,6
