     William Henry King, son of John Madison King and Mary West Sheffield, was born on 16 September 1854.1 William Henry King was the son of John Madison King and Mary West Sheffield.1

William Henry King appeared on the United States census of 12 July 1860 in the household of John Madison King at Camden County, Georgia.2

Camden's Challenge by Marguerite Reddick states "Mr. King, as the founder and first mayor of Kingsland, gave the lands for public and religious buldngs, as well as the rights-of-way for both railroads and both highways. He was a planter and merchant and was the first director of the State Bank of Kingsland. Mr. King was a life-long member of the Methodist Church."3

William Henry King married Caroline Satilla Simpson on 10 April 1879.4

William Henry King died on 16 November 1932 at age 78.1 and was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Mary's, Camden County, Georgia.4
