     Monroe D. Jernigan, was born in 1874.

Monroe D. Jernigan married Martha E. Ainsworth, daughter of Jackson Andrew Ainsworth and Pernicia Ann Barker.

On 11 May 1910, Monroe D. Jernigan appeared on the United States Census, at Taylorsville, Smith County, Mississippi, Also in the household were his mother, Annie Jernigan; his grandmother, Mancy J. Blair; and an uncle, Wily T. Blair. In this census Monroe is listed as Davis M. Jernigan.2

On 20 January 1920, Monroe D. Jernigan appeared on the United States Census, at Smith County, Mississippi.3

Monroe D. Jernigan died in 1925. and was buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Sylvarena, Smith County, Mississippi.4
