     She was also known as A. J. Heuin.2 Jane Rebecca Herring, was born on 3 July 1849 at Clarke County, Mississippi.32

Jane Rebecca Herring married James Polk Adams, son of John Adams and Epsey Young, on 9 January 1875 at Clarke County, Mississippi.2

Jane Rebecca Herring appeared on the United States census of 1880 in the household of James Polk Adams at Clarke County, Mississippi.4

Jane Rebecca Herring died on 19 January 1885 at Clarke County, Mississippi, at age 35.5 and was buried at Old Pleasnt Hill Cemetery, near Quitman, Clarke County, Mississippi. Her headstone states "Died a member of the Methodist Church 19 Jan 1885. Dearest wife and mother thou has left us and..."5
