George Granberry, son of James Granberry and Mary Maning, was born before 1760 at Norfolk County, Virginia.1 George Granberry was the son of James Granberry and Mary Maning.1

George Granberry began military service in 1776 at Pitt County, North Carolina. George Granberry was a Captain in the Thrid Regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War..1

"Most of George and Sarah Granberry's children moved on into Mississippi later than Moses and Elizabeth Granberry's children did, as I find no record of them prior to 1830. Also, most of them later moved on to Texas, after living in Madison, Rankin, Hinds, or Covington Counties at different times during their migration. As far as I have been able to find out, most of them stopped in Texas and did not travel across to the California Territory. At least one of George's children stayed in North Carolina and did not come further south, and at least one of them stayed in Georgia."1

George Granberry married Sarah Jackson.1

George Granberry died in 1805 at Jefferson County, Georgia.1
