     George W. Dickerson, was born on 9 March 1845 at Mississippi.2

The military service record of George W. Dickerson includes the following: George Dickerson served in the Civil War Confederate Army. He "spent most of his time of service either in a prison camp or in a hospital, he was captured at Big Black, and sent to Fort Delaware, he was also captured at Chickasaw Bayou in May 1863 and sent to Memphis, Tennessee, and then in May 1864 at Resaca, GA.3

George W. Dickerson married Celeta Christabelle Welborn, daughter of James Lawrence Welborn and Tabitha Welch.

George W. Dickerson died on 5 September 1948 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at age 103.3 and was buried at Runge City Cemetery, Runge, Karnes County, Texas.3
