Mary Dawson died on 14 January 1920 at Walsenburg Town, Huerfano County, Colorado. On 15 Jan 1920 we read:
Mrs. John Hunter died at her home in Walsenburg Wednesday morning. She leaves her husband and four children, on a baby three weeks old, to survive her.

On 22 Jan 1920 we read:
Mrs. John Hunter died at her home on Capital Hill on Wednesday, January 14, 1920. Mrs. Hunter's maiden name was Mary Dawson, and she was born in Scotland, coming to this country 20 years ago.
She was married on April 26, 1904, to Mr. John Hunter. The family came to Colorado sixteen years ago, and have lived in Walsenburg for eleven years, four years in their present home on Capitol Hill. Funeral services were held from the residence, Sunday, January 18.5,2 She was buried on 18 January 1920 at Masonic Cemetery, Walsenburg, Huerfano County, Colorado.2,3
