William C. Cooley Jr., son of William Cooley and Nancy Bounds, was born in 1791 at South Carolina.1 William C. Cooley Jr., according to another researcher, was born in 1812 at South Carolina.3,4 He was the son of William Cooley and Nancy Bounds.1

Mary Collins Landin says that William Cooley, Jr. and his wife, Mary Polly Davis had 18 children! They were born over a span of 36 years. These descendents, and many of theirs, are listed in her book, The Collins and Travis Families and Their Allies. Much of this information was derived from census records. Since the censuses she was using did not actually list the relationship to the head of household, I believe that probably there were some grandchildren or nieces and nephews living with them rather than 18 children. This seems likely the case since there are some given names repeated. If the first child of a given name were no longer living, perhaps the name would be given to a younger sibling, but there is no evidence that that is the case. I'm therefore not using this Landin information until there is more evidence supporting it.1

William C. Cooley Jr. married Mary Polly Davis.

On 10 September 1850, William C. Cooley Jr. appeared on the United States Census, at Jasper County, Mississippi.5

On 11 September 1860, William C. Cooley Jr. appeared on the United States Census, at Davisville, Jasper County, Mississippi.6

William C. Cooley Jr. died in 1875 at Jasper County, Mississippi.1,4 and was buried at Shady Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery, Heidelberg, Jasper County, Mississippi.4
